Summary
A 'treasure' basket made from split spruce roots, for keeping precious objects in. The base contains a woven compartment which contains a rattle. This rattle would alert the owner to someone trying to steal from the treasure basket. The 'handle' has a separate lid for keeping small items in. Wrangel, Alaska 1903. Part of Lord Egerton's collection of ethnographic objects once displayed in the Tenants' Hall.
