Summary
An Australian emu egg, with original felt lined stand. Associated label 'Egg of Emu Australia. The hen emu usually lays either 7, 9 or 11 eggs, but always an uneven number'. Part of Lord Egerton's collection of ethnographic objects once displayed in the Tenants' Hall.

reverse of label 'Given to ME by Mr Anderson the Tatton Clerk of Works, on September 27. 1951. Given to Mr Anderson by his uncle when 12 years old - say about 1904'.
