A coronet with red velvet dome issuing from a metal crown with ball finials above an ermine band.
Full description
Probably worn by Earl Whitworth (2nd husband of Arabella,the 3rd Duke of Dorset's wife), at the coronation of George IV on 19th July 1821. A British earl is entitled to a coronet bearing eight strawberry leaves and eight silver balls (or pearls) around the rim. Earl Whitworth performed the role of Assistant Server at the feast in Westminster Hall following the coronation ceremony.
