Summary

A set of black japanned coal hoods, 19th Century. Each one consisting of a metal coal hood with sloping hinged lid, swing handle, metal liner. Gilt decorated with crown and the letter 'E'.

Provenance

Egerton collection devised to the National Trust in 1960 by Maurice, 4th Baron Egerton of Tatton (1874-1958)
