Summary
A Victorian mahogany half tester bed, circa 1812, made by Gillows of Lancaster. Converted from a four poster bed circa 1850. The foot of the bed with turned and tapered uprights, fluted bun feet and a material covered centre panel. The canopy is in carved giltwood, with scroll acanthus leaf motifs, hung with shaped pelmets and drapes, en suite to the curtains, fringed with bedding and flounce.
