Summary
One of twenty four plates from a dessert service comprising twenty-four plates, soft-paste porcelain, French moulded foliate border, painted in enamels with large bouquet in the centre surrounded by birds fruit and flowers on the rim, gold dentil border, possibly painted by Thomas Pardoe (1770-1823), impressed ‘Nant-garw/C.W’, Nantgarw, Wales, c. 1818-20. There is a crack from the rim towards the centre, 40mm approx, from a chip in the underside of the rim. There are also impact cracks radiating from a central point on the underside of the plate.
