Caption
Ronald Copeland sent specimens from the gardens at Trelissick to the Spode manufactory, where Harold Holdway prepared the illustrations used on these wares. Six rhododendons were initially chosen, Batemonii, Gwylt King, Augustinii, Fortunei, Dalhousii and Hodgsonii. Examples were presented to H.M. Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Trelissick in 2002.
Summary
One of a set of six large plates with hand coloured etching from the Trelissick Rhododendrons ceramic collection; entitled Batemanii after the dark pink Rhododendron pictured. Part of the later set of six.
