Summary
Sucrier with two gilded handles, from a Spode tea service, circa 1810. Of 'New Oval' shape, brightly gilded with pattern 893 of linked white flowerheads on a cobalt blue band and trailing gold leaves, comprising a teapot, cover and stand, sucrier and cover, milk jug, slop bowl, two saucer dishes, seven Bute shaped teacups, eight coffee cans and ten saucers, marked SPODE 893.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust from William Copeland via Bonhams at 'The Contents of Trelissick House including The Copeland China Collection' sale, Feock, near Truro, Cornwall, 23-24th July 2013, lot 467. Previously Colin Ashton, purchased in May 1946 for £75.
