Summary
A Victorian silver presentation five branch/six light candelabra, by Edward Barnard & Sons, London 1862. Of naturalistic form, the central three layered acanthus capital with removable drip pan, to a five matching scroll arms, supported by a spouting acanthus leaf stem, raised on a trefoil scroll base with pad feet, inscribed and armorial crested. Armorial crest of Copeland. Engraved image of Bishopsgate. With five glass liners.
Marks and inscriptions
Inscription: 'presented, by the inhabitants of, Bishopsgate Ward, to Willm Taylor Copeland Esq. M.P., as a token of, their grateful acknowledgement, for the exemplary manner in which, he has discharged the important duties, of Alderman of their Ward, for the long period of 31 years, 1863.'
