Summary
Company flag of Manders, the Wolverhampton based family firm of which Sir Geoffrey Mander was Managing Director and later Chairman. Founded in 1845 as Mander Brothers by the brothers Charles Benjamin Mander and Samuel Small Mander in 1845 it became one of the foremost manufacturers of varnishes, paints and later printing inks. By the middle of the twentieth century the company had incorporated the name Manders into its title and in 1991 it underwent a company restructure and became known as Manders PLC. The burgundy flag has the name Manders depicted in large white letters, above which is displayed a logo featuring the white outline of a demi-lion holding an object in its paws. This appears to be closely linked to the Mander family coat of arms. The rope and toggle are still attached to the flag and down the opposite short edge is a band of white mesh.
