Summary
Benson lamp and shade. In his 'Notes of Some of the Minor Arts' (1883), Benson wrote of the qualities that he endeavoured to incorporate into his early light designs: 'simple honesty of purpose, sound construction and good workmanship; avoidance of eclecticism; he embraced originality in his designs, but the latter only if employed solely for its own sake.'- Taken from 'W.A.S.
