Summary
Rush Wall Panel - (6th) panel on visitors staircase. Woven rush wall-covering panels pinned to walls (likely to be lathe and plaster over brick) with iron based tacks. The design is woven warp patterned with double rows of hexagons formed by yellow rush floats interspersed with rows of checkered diamonds in contrasting yellow and red/brown floats. The panel is tacked to the wall with iron based tacks. The panel is shaped to fit below the dado rail at the bottom of the stairs and so is much wider at the bottom than at the top.
