Summary
A baby's World War II gas mask. The visor has a black riveted rubber surround which has a khaki rubber ventilator pump on the left hand side. These are attached to a khaki painted metal frame which begins at the seat of the baby and over its head and around its face down to waist level. Attached to this from the visor is an all embracing skirt to thigh level over which is fastened a piece of material from crutch to waist which has a webbed belt which adjusts to the metal frame with two buckles. A tape secured at the back of the frame and passing around the skirt at waist level passes through a series of canvas loops and ties in a bow at the front. The material is a rubberised canvas which has worn in places. On the front of the crutch piece are four metal strap holes which allow adjustment for the size of the baby.
