Full description
Wallpaper designed by J.H. Dearle. Pattern: Leicester - Redecorated in 1944. Price; 8/9 to 12/- (Original wallpaper unknown). 'Leicester' was purchased in October 1943 from Arthur Sanderson & Sons, their Morris & Co liquidation stock, and the decorating firm of Fidlers in Hordern Road Wolverhampton installed it in the Morning Room in 1944. Purchased for six pieces at 31/6d each. 'Leicester' replaced a fabric called “Moose”, which had replaced the original fabric in 1910. It had been intended to use silk to redecorate the Morning Room but the silk material was wrongly measured.
