Summary
An oak 'porters' wing-back chair, British, early 20th century, the tall rectangular back with rounded top, flanked by close-nailed wings with shaped tops and quadrant-shaped cut-outs to the bases, the wings joining square-section columns with ball finials to the top, the columns extending down to form the front legs of the chair, the wings resting on flat armrests and plain side panels, with shaped aprons to the front and sides, a loose squab cushion to the seat, on square-section tapering legs with brass caps and castors, upholstered in patterned fabric.
