Summary

A mahogany combined billiards, pyramids and pool scoreboard, London, circa 1911-1936, by Thurston & co. Ltd., with shaped cornice above a board front centred by a rectangular blackboard, above and below is a long thin open rectangle containing a round black-painted pole painted with yellow numbers to each side in ranges of twenty, a turned ebonized knob to the right side of the scoreboard at the end of each numbered pole, this allows the pole to be rotated to show a different range of numbers, each of these numbered poles flanked to the outer edge with a carved ivory pointer which slides along a strip to indicate the score, the centre blackboard flanked to each side with two columns of ivory cabochons stained various colours including red and yellow, between these columns of cabouchons are shaped black labels painted with yellow lettering reading 'WHITE', 'RED', 'YELLOW', 'GREEN', 'BROWN' and 'BLUE' to the left side and 'PINK', 'WHITE', 'RED', 'YELLOW', 'GREEN' and 'BROWN' to the right side, with moulded base atop a rectangular box section with hinged drop-front door inset with three glazed panels, the interior divided into three sections, each with a single shelf and containing a selection of variously covered balls, on shaped base. A small canted rectangular ivorine label affixed above the blackboard inscribed 'THURSTON & CO. LONDON'. Together with a billiard table (1288230.1), billiard balls (1288230.3), billiard cues (1288230.4), billiard cue racks (1288230.5 &.6).
