Summary
Coloured chalks on pale green paper, Bust of a Woman turned to the Right by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (London 1828 - Birchington 1882), signed with monogram and dated upper left: GDR 1873. the sitter bears resemblance to both Alexa Wilding and Marie Spartali, Mrs Stillman, from August 1872. It seems to be a study for The Roman Widow, 1874, Museo de Arte de Ponce, Puerto Rico.
