Summary
Small, carved wooden toy cow, with jointed shoulders. The cow has previously been painted brown and white, through this has mostly worn away now. Dating from 1944, made by a Prisoner of War, believed to have been held at Seaton Delaval Hall.
Provenance
Item crafted by an Italian (?) Prisoner of War, held at Seaton Deleval Hall during the 1940s. Given by him to the children of the Davison family at Hartley West Farm, thence by descent. Donated to the National Trust for Seaton Deleval in 2025.
