Summary
An ormolu-mounted, brass-inlaid and tortoiseshell bureau plat, English, circa 1830, the rectangular top inlaid with a central cartouche worked with foliage and flanked by urns, mythical beasts, anthemia and inlaid with engraved ivory exotic birds and sphinxes, within a foliate cast edge, above three frieze drawers, the central drawer with a blue stained background within a tasseled drape surround, the smaller drawers centered by masks, with opposing faux drawers, each end centred by a large bacchic mask, each cabriole leg headed by a voluptuous female bust trailing to hairy paw feet.
