One of a pair of candlesticks titled 'Ranelagh dancers' and made by the Derby porcelain factory in the 1830s. The figurine depicts a female guest of the masked ball held at Ranelagh Gardens in 1759. The lady is dressed in court dress with a mantle and has a cameo suspended on a ribbon believed to be a token of admission to the ball.
