Summary
One of a pair of silk roundels (see also NT 1275368.2), embroidered in various colours on black, showing a scene in the garden of a mansion or palace, with a boy dressed up as a warrior and a lady leaning against a balustrade, possibly made as a pillow end, Chinese, probably 19th century.

Given to George Bernard Shaw by John McCrorie, 1949; bequeathed by George Bernard Shaw to the National Trust together with Shaw’s Corner and its contents, 1950.
