Summary
A red riveted fibreboard box containing a gas mask, spares and related items. A smoke helmet of khaki woollen fabric with orange cotton lining, aluminium-framed celluloid window and chromed metal breathing filter (marked MISC/131). A white paper bag containing 3 sponges for filter, with paper label printed in red headed "BEFORE USE" (marked MISC/132). A metal spring for retaining filters (unmarked but corresponds to description on card for MISC/134). A brown glass medicine bottle with clear glass stopper and white encrustation around neck, wrapped in corrugated cardboard (unmarked but corresponds to description on card for MISC/135). Two filter sponges (unmarked, possibly indexed as MISC/136). A number of white gauze pads for the filter, in a paper envelope (marked MISC/137). Three paper labels headed "EEDS PATENT SMOKE HELMETS" with typed instructions for use of filter.
