Summary

A gold coin, a Royal D'Or of Charles VII of France (1403 - 1461), in circulation at the time of Joan of Arc's death in 1431. Embossed on one side with a figure of the king holding two sceptres, on background of fleurs-de-lys within border with lettering and on the with four-lobed deisgn and four crowns within a similar border.

Provenance

Originally belonged to GBS. Handed over by Public Trustee in 1961.
