Summary
Brass relief, head of Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950). A portrait head, shown three-quarters right, the depth of relief less on the right. Ring for hanging at top. Sculpted by Shaw's friend Rosie Banks Danecourt, who also designed the front door knocker.
Provenance
The Shaw Collection. The house and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by George Bernard Shaw in 1950, together with Shaw's photographic archive.
Marks and inscriptions
cast in recessed lettering to left of beard "G.B.SHAW". Engraved on reverse "To Euripides From Rosie Banks Danecourt".
