A near pair of painted and gilded open armchairs, English, retailed by W. Charles Tozer, of Brook Street, London, circa 1920, in late 18th/early 19th century style. One green, the other cream.

The Shaw Collection. The house and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) in 1950, together with Shaw's photographic archive.
