Summary
Floor scrubber and polisher. Square oak block with four scrubbing brushes screwed to bottom. Stale handle set into block at an angle of 45 degrees. When used as a polisher, three or four cloths were wrapped around it.
Provenance
Made by male cleaner between about 1891 and 1907 and used on wooden floors in the Dyott estate kitchen until 1914. Gifted to Staffordshire Museum Service. On loan from Staffordshire Museum Service to the National Trust.
