Summary
An assembled 19-piece partial Spode dinner and tea service, bone china, transfer-printed in red (“pink”) with the ‘Camilla’ pattern, comprising of 4 large dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 saucers, 4 teacups, a tea or coffee pot with separate cover and a cream jug, the majority with a pink backstamp on the base denoting wares produced circa 1930 – 1970 and three pieces with a black backstamp indicating production post 1970. Some pieces with additional markings on the base that may possibly be impressed date codes. W.T. Copeland and Spode Ltd., Stoke on Trent, England, circa 1930 – 1980. The ‘Camilla’ pattern was first produced in 1833 in underglaze blue, with the red or “pink” pattern being introduced in the twentieth century.
