Summary
One of three Guillemots in glass fronted taxidermy display case. One common guillemot with two black guillemots, one in summer plumage and a transitional one moulting to winter plumage. Labelled '1 com Guillemot, 2 black guillemots, Roan Island, Sutherland, Aug 10th 1900.'
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust with Shugborough’s park and contents of the state rooms, in part-payment of death-duties to the Treasury, following the death of Thomas, 4th Earl of Lichfield (1883 - 1960).
