Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Probably General, The Hon. George Anson, PC, MP, FRS, (1797-1857) by Henry Collen (1800– 1879). c.1826. Octagonal. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the right, gazing to the left, wearing a red cloak, blue and gold waistcoat, white open-neck shirt, a la Byron. Grey eyes, curly black hair and whiskers, ruddy complexion, aged about 30. The back is engraved The Honble Henry Anson, circa 1826. However there is no known The Hon. Henry Anson at this time c.1826. However, Collen probably exhibited this miniature of the Hon. George Anson at the RA in 1830 (730)
