Summary
A set of five saucers, part of a 20-piece Derby tea and coffee service, polychrome painted with floral still-lives on a marble plinth, attributed to Edwin Steele (1805-1871), on a rich cobalt blue, ground with gold scrollwork, gilders mark ‘70’ in gold and the factory mark in iron-red for Robert Bloor & Co., circa 1815-26. Robert Bloor was the proprietor of the Derby factory between 1815 and 1845. Mark: 'D' under a crown and crossed batons with six dots in iron-red enamels Additional information on the dating kindly provided by Bryan Merrett of the Derby Porcelain International Society.
