Summary
Skirt. Cream silk taffeta long skirt with centre front panel overlay of cream silk crepeline finely gathered into the waist with an overlay of cream silk lace (Honiton?).The crepeline is in four layers at the hem. The skirt is longer at the back than the front and has been stiffened at the hem and faced. At the centre front there is a cord or chain weight in the hem to help the hang o f the skirt. (Waist 25"). A card label sewn to the front hem states: 'Tea Gown of trousseau made by Paquin of Dover St. for Miss Fraser (Wm Bankes July 1897).' Belongs to teagown, see KLA/T/98.1.
