Dress bodice - Part of an orange silk brocade dress consisting of a bodice and skirt of orange silk brocade with a lace underskirt and tulle and lace trimmings to the collar and cuffs.
Provenance
There are two labels both written by Mrs R.J. Bankes; (a) Orange brocade satin and white chiffon fancy dress style 'Pompadour' worn by Mrs Bankes at Fancy Dress Ball at the Albert Hall, June 1903, and (b) on the skirt; Wedding petticoat made by Jay's of regent Street for Miss Fraser (Mrs R. Bankes) for her wedding day July 21st 1897.
