Summary
Sculpture, marble, Keystone in the Form of a Head of the Medusa, copied from the 'Rondanini Medusa’, The Rondanini Medusa came from the Palazzo Rondanini in Rome, and is now in the Glyptothek, Munich. The Munich copy is the finest of six surviving from Roman Imperial times, of the Gorgon-head on the shield of Athene Parthenos, the cult statue which stood in the Parthenon.
