Summary
A pair of Bronze Firedogs: Satyr with Pan-pipes by Severo da Ravenna (fl.c.1496 -c.1543) and his workshop. Pair of bronze andirons (firedogs). On tripod of leonine form with super-imposed ornamental zones of sphinxes and satyrs, with masks and acanthus motifs. Andiron by perhaps Severo da Ravenna in the style of Desiderio de Firenze on late 16th-century Venetian bases (pair).
