Summary
Bronze on bronze pedestal, Lady Mary Bankes (1598-1661) by Baron Carlo Marochetti, RA (Turin 1805 – Passy, Paris 1867), 1853/55. A full-length female figure mounted on bronze pedestal holding her sword and the key of Corfe Castle. Her face, faithfully portraying her character of firmness and determination, is based on the portrait by Bone and the original miniature, which are both in the Drawing-room (KLA/Bone/29). The costume is based upon Guillain's 'Anne of Austria' by Baron Carlo Marochetti.
