Bronze on bronze pedestal, Sir John Bankes MP, PC (1589-1644), by Baron Carlo Marochetti, RA (Turin 1805 – Passy, Paris 1867), 1853/55 . A bronze full-length figure based on Gilbert Jackson's portrait in the Library (KLA/P/9). The bronze pedestal is based on Verrocchio’s tomb of Piero and Giovanni de’Medici in Florence.

Commissioned by William John Bankes (1786 - 1855), 18th November 1853; and thence by descent; bequeathed by (Henry John) Ralph Bankes (1902 – 1981) together with the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy and its entire contents
