Summary
A giltwood and upholstered low armchair or fauteuil, French, late 19th century. Mid 18th century style, the shaped padded back with moulded frame, with moulded padded arms and an overstuffed seat, raised on squat cabriole legs, floral carving to the frame and upholstered in a tapestry Aubusson style cloth.
Provenance
Bequest of the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy made to the National Trust by Henry John Ralph Bankes (1902-1981). NT ownership commenced from 19th August 1982.
