Summary
Print, lithograph, The Triumphal Arch of Orange, France (after Guesdon) by Ad. Cuvillier and Adolphe-Jean-Baptiste Bayot (Alessandria 1810 - 1866). From a drawing by Guesdon. Editor Jeanin. Published by Jeanin. The arch is thought to have been built during the reign of Augustus (27 BC - AD 14),to honour the veterans of the Gallic Wars and Legio II Augusta. It was later reconstructed by emperor Tiberius to celebrate the victories of Germanicus over the German tribes in Rhineland.
