Summary
Prints, set of two, 1. Guardian Angels, or Silence (after Francesco Bartolozzi) and 2.A Sleeping Cherub Watched by Three Others (after Francesco Bartolozzi) by John Heaviside Clarke (Scotland 1770 - Edinburgh 1836). Oval engravings of a sleeping cherub and another sleeping cherub watched by two others, standing to the left, who seem to discuss what they see. Wooden back, paper tape. Pair with KLA/D/1042.2. Oval engraving of sleeping cherub watched over by two others, standing behind. Pair with KLA/D/1042.1. Both prints in gilt frames within a rectangular purple mount, with white label in bottom left section, both by I. Clarke after F. Bartolozzi.
