Summary
One of a pair of Paris porcelain neo-classical canopic flared stands, modelled with three bronzed Egyptian caryatid mummies. Their lower parts richly gilded and burnished with hiero- glyphs, decoration in the 'Retour d'Egypt' style, in niches painted to resemble marble. The marbled niches are divided by three bronzed panels with moulded gilt-entwined serpents supporting a shallow bowl. The matt-blue ground with radiating moulded gilt anthemion below a band of hieroglyphs. On a circular foot with gilt key-pattern.
