Summary
Bellows Operated Vacuum cleaner
Full description
Bellows Operated Vacuum cleaner. This vacuum cleaner was invented and patented in 1910 by the Star Engineering Co Ltd of Wolverhampton. The cleaner cost 54Shillings and was in production until 1938. It worked by hand – you pulled and pushed the concertina-like drum up and down sucking dust and air in through the cleaning head. Unfortunately the dust didn’t store very well within the drum and tended to blow back out again.
