Full description
Captain The Hon Ronald Fulke Greville died on 5th April from pneumonia following an operation on 31st March for cancer of the larynx. This letter was sent to his widow, Margaret Greville. Letter of condolence from Creighton Webb of Prince's Hotel, St James, London to Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) dated 11th April 1908. My dear old friend, I cannot tell you how deeply and sincerely I sympathize with you in your great loss. You and yours have always been so kind to me , a stranger, that your sorrow touches me very closely and you are constantly on my mind. Words are poor things at such times as this. You must have your consolation in the fine record he has left behind him in the thousand of appreciation and heartfelt things one heard about him on every side. You have a host of friends, no one, believe me, among them all feels more for you than I do. Your sincere friend, Creighton Webb Creighton was an American Military Officer. Later 1st Secretary attached to the American Embassy in St Petersburg. He frequently visited London.
