Full description
The Duke of York and the Duchess of York sit side by side on a rustic bench in the grounds of Polesden Lacey. They are warmly dressed. The Duke is wearing a tweed jacket and trousers, shirt, striped tie and flat cap. His arms are folded. The Duchess is wearing a trimmed woollen skirt and jacket, a rounded necked top and a cloche hat. Her hands rest on the bench. She has a single rope of pearls around her neck, the Duke has a watch showing below his cuff. It was a prearranged photoshoot for the press.
