Full description
he Duke of York and the Duchess of York are standing side by side half way down the South Lawn steps. The duke has both hands in his pockets, the Duchess has one hand in her pocket. They are both looking to the right. They are warmly dressed. The Duke is wearing a tweed jacket and trousers, shirt, striped tie and flat cap. The Duchess is wearing a trimmed woollen skirt and jacket, a rounded necked top and a cloche hat. She has a single rope of pearls around her neck. It was a prearranged photoshoot for the press. Signed and dated at the bottom of the photograph: Elizabeth Albert (below) April 26th - May 7th'.
