Full description
Major Finch is wearing the uniform of the Warwickshire Yeoman Cavalry. A dark blue tunic, edged with white cord, and with Austrian knots on the sleeves, white collar and cuffs. Six loops of hussar lace cross the front of the tunic. The front of the collar is decorated with white cord trefoils on each side. The tunic is fastened with olivets. The bushies (helmet) is of a regulation pattern white bags, lace, captines and a white cord boss at the front. The brush plume is white over white, flowing from a white metal socket. The pantaloons have double white stripes and the knee boots have spurs attached. Charles's son, the Hon Henage Finch, and his wife, Lady Gladys, née Fellows, visited Polesden Lacey in 1912. Inscribed 'Aylesford / Jan 1st / 1899.
