Full description
A coloured aquatint of The Golden Time, after C C Henderson from 'Fores's Coaching Recollections. Many of Henderson's works were bought and published by Fores. They had owned this image and first published it in 1847. The series was originally engraved in 1842-1843 and continued to be reproduced thought the nineteenth century. A horse-drawn coach with passengers and onlookers stand in a bustling street.

Purchased on 21.9.2004, Christie's Sale 7013 'Property from two ducal collections', Woburn Abbey, lot 1521, for £280 (all four prints) plus commission and VAT.
