Full description
A modern copy of an original Feraghan runner rug POL/T/17. These were made by David Bamford in 1999. A blue field with Herati pattern and red lotus border. Feraghan, the name of a district to the south of Tehran in Iran, is a type of Persian carpet made from short finely knotted wool pile on cotton or cotton/wool backing. Feraghan carpets are heavily influenced by Herati designs, and carpets were popular in the decoration of the houses of the growing middle class during the Victorian period.
