Full description
Willoughby is dressed in a three piece suit. In this head and shoulder shot he is looking at the camera turned to the left. See also NT 1246805 Major Sir John Willoughby was the eldest son of Sir John Willoughby 4th Baronet and his second wife Maria Elizabeth Fawkes. He succeeded to the title in 1866. In 1895 he took part in the Jameson Raid, an ineffective attempt to overthrow President Paul Kruger of the Transvaal republic in Dec 1895. He also took part in the Boer War and The First World War.
