Summary
A Studio Portrait of Helen MacEwan who stands leaning on a carved chair which is draped with material. She is wearing a dark, heavily embellished, layered skirt and corseted bodice which has 3/4 sleeves and a V-neck. Her hair is tight to her head and pinned on top. She has a diamond star in her hair, two on her left lapel and one at the base of her neckline. She is wearing a pearl necklace with a jewelled pendant, a bracelet on each wrist, and several substantial rings on her left and right ring fingers. She is holding a lace handkerchief and is looking to the right.
