Full description
In 1927 Margaret Greville stayed at the Hotel Stephanie in Baden-Baden during the Grosser Preis von Baden. On the 29th August she hosted a fine dinner at the Hotel as did Baron Albert von Goldschimidt-Rothschild. Albert and Margaret chat at the Jockeys Club on the race day. Albert part of the Jewish banking family built up an extensive and precious art collection. Following the Nazis rise to power the family were persecuted and lost among other assets their art collection. Albert fled Frankfurt and joined his family in Lucerne in January 1939, remaining there until his death.
